Lieutenant Cordaress Chambers
Freshman/Sophomore Class Advisor
Lieutenant Chambers is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a B.S. in Biology and earned his commission via the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in August 2013.
In September 2013, he reported onboard USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG-48) in San Diego, California as the Electrical Officer. He earned his qualification as a Surface Warfare Officer in November of 2014 after a highly successful deployment to the 4th Fleet area of responsibility in support of counter narcoterrorism operations. After decommissioning USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG-48) in March 2015, Lieutenant Chambers reported to USS MAHAN (DDG 72) in Norfolk, Virginia as the Antiterrorism Officer. While onboard, he completed a deployment to the 5th and 6th Fleet area of responsibility and earned a number of advanced qualifications to include Antisubmarine Warfare Evaluator and Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator.
Ashore, Lieutenant Chambers reported to Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Houston Consortium in November of 2017. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Naval Science and class advisor for the Prairie View unit.
Lieutenant Chambers’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), the Global War of Terrorism Medal, the Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation, and other personal, unit, campaign, and service awards.
