Jackson de Carvalho is an accomplished Organizational Development professional with a solid academic background in management and over 15 years of solid experience providing policy analysis, evaluation, strategic planning, community assessment and comprehensive grant writing services. Dr. Jackson has a Master’s degree in social work and two Ph.D.’s in the areas of program development, policy formulation and management.
He was born in Brazil and lived in many countries before coming to the United States over twenty years ago. Dr. de Carvalho is fluent in five languages and has the multicultural sensitivity and capacity to engage organizations to find ways to improve the quality of their services, reduce programmatic costs, and maintain efficient operations.
Before being hired for the position of Assistant Professor of Social Work at Prairie View A&M University, he was the Chairman /CEO of matrix Evaluation Consulting, Inc. and worked as a vice president of operations and development for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Dallas. As a consultant, he assisted organizations in the areas of program development, grant writing, research and evaluation. In addition, Dr. de Carvalho worked as an adjunct professor at UTA School of Social Work, as he contributed to the academic and professional development of others as a passion that drives his personal mission and goals. He often encapsulates his late accomplishments with the following words of Robert Frost: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
