The membership intake period for Spring 2024 will begin no earlier than Monday, February 5, 2024 and end no later than Friday, April 5, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. During the membership intake process, activities can begin at the following designated times: Monday thru Thursday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday, 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM (midnight); Saturday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM (midnight); and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Please note: No organization may conduct any membership intake-related activities during Monday, March 11, 2024 – Saturday, March 16, 2024 (Spring Break). All membership intake-related activities must take place on the main campus.

Any organization conducting membership intake activities must receive official authorization in writing from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life before membership intake activities commence. Please note, all students and organizations must follow University regulations. Failure to follow University regulations could result in violations that could potentially impact the student and the organization.

EXPECTATIONS OF ORGANIZATIONS CONDUCTING INTAKE:

1.The academic mission of the institution will be upheld and promoted to new members.
2.The membership activities will not interfere with academic endeavors or class schedules.
3.Chapters may only select up to fifty (50) students for membership intake.
4.The selection of new members will be free of any form of mental and/or physical abuse and hazing.
5.Chapters will not engage in pre or post hazing activities.
6.Chapter advisors will be present at all membership related activities.
7.Chapters must complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
8.No membership activity includes the presence or consumption of alcohol.
9.Chapters must adhere to all University rules and regulations.

MIP GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBER:

1.Earned at least 30 credit hours at PVAMU. Transfer students must have earned 12 credit hours of the 30 hours required from PVAMU.
2.Must have at least a 2.800 cumulative GPA
3.30 community service hours are required by PVAMU for Spring 2024 MIP (must be completed during the 2023-2024 calendar years and be submitted on or before February 5, 2024). Please note, chapters may require additional hours as part of their application process.

    2. Click on the circle icon (top right corner)
    3. Select “Experiences”
    4. Click on the “Add Experience” icon
    5. Select “Community Service”

4.A full-time student (12 or more credit hour load), currently enrolled.
5.Does NOT have any open student conduct cases.
6.Complete one (1) Greek Life Perspectives Course (CLICK HERE).

IGC/NPHC GENERAL MEMBER INFORMATION:

1.Maintain a 2.500 cumulative GPA
2.A full-time, currently enrolled student
3.Be in good standing with the PVAMU
4.Completed minimum fifteen (15) hours community service requirement for respective organizations.

GREEK LIFE PERSPECTIVES (GLP) WORKSHOP:

The Greek Life Perspectives (GLP) Workshop is required for all students that wish to participate in the membership intake at Prairie View A&M University. Students that have taken this course in the spring of 2023 will not need to complete this course to be eligible for membership intake in the spring of 2024. Upon successful completion of this workshop, the student’s name will exist in the Fraternity and Sorority Life database acknowledging that they have completed this requirement. The chapters listed below will be eligible for Spring 2024 MIP however, may still choose not to or may become ineligible to conduct membership intake. Chapter eligibility does NOT guarantee that the chapter will participate in membership intake.

The university-recognized chapter advisor must be present throughout the duration of all membership intake-related activities. The chapter’s failure to abide with this directive and all other university guidelines, policies, and procedures can result in severe disciplinary action, including but not limited to expulsion from Prairie View A&M University.
