Through several student-run outlets, the news and current events are shared with the campus community. The Panther, the student newspaper, Pantherland, the student yearbook, and Etched, the student magazine are all produced out of the Office of Student Engagement which is housed in the Willie A. Tempton, Sr. Memorial Student Center. The entire publications are written, edited and produced by students so that they can gain real world experience as they prepare for careers in journalism, marketing, television, radio and related industries.
The Department of Languages and Communications offers students majoring in communications the opportunity to match theory with practice in a studio and production lab of KPVU –TV. Additionally the campus radio station, 91.3 KPVU has opportunities for students to volunteer, host and plan their own radio programs.
