10 am: Chapel Service
Johnson-Phillip All Faiths Chapel

11 am – 2pm: Panther Prep Day

Willie A. Tempton, Sr. Memorial Student Center – North Lawn
Student organizations and volunteers will decorate the campus and paint the streets purple and gold in preparation for Homecoming Week 2010.

7 pm: Gospel Fest
Willie A. Tempton, Sr. Memorial Student Center
Opal Johnson-Smith Auditorium
Local gospel performance groups along with special guests will take the stage for a night of praise.

Monday – October 11, 2010

6 pm: Century II Book Review and Book Signing
A noted author, as well as Prairie View A&M University Alum, will be featured for their literary works

7 pm: Jackpot Mock Casino Night

Come out and join the members of the PV family as we risk it all at the Jackpot Casino Night. This novelty will include dealers, slot machines, and the most popular casino tables. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded. This will be an event you don’t want to miss!

11 am: Lunch with the President and Administration

Come and enjoy a Homecoming lunch with the President of Prairie View A&M University and the University’s administrative team. Dress to impress, as this is your chance to have your photo taken with the Prez!

Noon – 2 pm: Hump Day on the Hill – The Homecoming Edition

This midweek social tradition is extended in honor of Homecoming 2010.

7 pm: Mr. and Miss Prairie View A&M University Coronation

Opal Johnson-Smith Auditorium
Join the PVAMU family for the official crowning of Mr.and Miss PVAMU during the Annual Homecoming Coronation. During this formal affair, spectators will witness the presentation of the campus student organization royalty as they salute the Pantherland Royal Court. A formal reception immediately follows in the MSC Ballroom.

Thursday – October 14, 2010

3 pm: Royce West Forum and Lecture Series
Don K. Clark (Juvenile Justice) Building Auditorium
This forum named in honor of Texas Senator and Dallas native, Royce West, brings together esteemed academicians and practitioners to discuss issues that affect the African-American community.

6 pm: Purple and Gold Preview
Mock Funeral, Pep Rally, and Bonfire

This series of spirit events marks the eve of the Homecoming Game. Helps us “put to rest” the Lincoln University Lions. Then follow the processional to a pep rally featuring the Marching Storm band and PVAMU cheerleaders, before heading to the tailgate area for the annual bonfire.

8 pm: Tent Party
Alumni Field
Looking for your classmates or old friends? This is your chance to mingle with your buddies from back in the day. Stick around and hear the latest tunes and learn the recent dances at the ever so popular tent party.

Friday – October 15, 2010

11am: Fallen Panther Memorial Service

Join us to for a memorial service honoring PVAMU alumni, faculty, administration, staff and students who have passed away between Homecoming 2009 and Homecoming 2010.

8 pm: Homecoming Concert with George Clinton and the Parliament P-Funk All Stars  Buy Tickets
Featuring Comedian Aries Spears

Saturday – October 16, 2010

9:15 am: Homecoming Parade
The traditional parade returns to a popular route that leads bands, floats and other participants through beautiful downtown Prairie View, Texas via University Drive. The  parade is on PVAMU’s campus by way of L.W. Minor Street. Get there early for a good seat!

11 am: Reunion Row
O.J. Thomas Street
With everything from food to games, exhibits and vendors, Reunion Row is the place to be seen. Booths will be set up well into the evening.

2 pm: Football Game – PV Panthers versus the Lincoln University
Blackshear Stadium
Watch as the Panthers take on Lincoln University  Lions as their 2010 Homecoming competitor.

8 pm: Stage Breakers Step Show and After Party

Come see National Pan Hellenic Council and Council of Student Organizations compete for over $9,000 in cash and prizes.

This year we bring to you George Clinton and the Parliament P-Funk All-Stars. Here is your chance to see him LIVE and in concert here on the campus of Prairie View A&M University.

George Clinton (born July 22, 1941) is an American musician and the principal architect of P-Funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and is a solo funk artist as of 1981. He has been called one of the most important innovators of funk music, next to James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted in 1997 with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.
