Prairie View A&M University Humanitarian Award

Purpose of the Award: The PVAMU Humanitarian Award was created to recognize individuals whose lives reflect their dedication to PVAMU’s highest humanitarian principles. The Award is for those whose lives clearly exemplify a “spirit of love and helpfulness to others.”
Goal: To inspire faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members and friends of Prairie View A&M University to live a life dedicated to responding to the needs of others.
This category includes graduating senior students who are enrolled at Prairie View A&M University at the time of selection or graduate students in their final semester at Prairie View A&M University at the time of selection.
This category includes all non students. It may include staff, faculty or administrators in addition to local community members/friends or alumni.
About the Prairie View A&M University Humanitarian Award:
In recognition that service is one of the highest ideals to which one can aspire and consistent with the centuries old tradition of universities recognizing outstanding service, Prairie View A&M University established the Humanitarian Award in 2005. The award honors individuals who are making outstanding contributions to the University, the state of Texas and the nation. Recipients of the annual award will be PVAMU’s measure of excellence in character and service to humanity.
Presentation of Award:
Awardees will be announced and presented in full regalia during the
Prairie View A&M University Spring Commencement Exercises in May.
