Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is the Greek Life Perspectives (GLP) Workshop?
    • The Greek Life Perspectives (GLP) Workshop is a course designed to help PVAMU students engage in the PVAMU Membership Intake Process (MIP) Program.  After completing the GLP Workshop, students will have general information concerning Greek Life and the purposes of specific organizations at PVAMU, the positive impact Greek Life members and organizations can have on campus life, expectations of Greek Life community members, and the benefits of involvement in Greek Life, inclusive of enhancing leadership and personal development opportunities and the PVAMU MIP Program.  With this workshop, the primary outcome is for PVAMU students to have knowledge that will allow them to make informed choices when engaging in a positive and rewarding collegiate experience as a participant in Greek Life on “The Hill”.
  • Who should participate in the GLP Workshops?
    • Any student who is interested in becoming a member of one of the PVAMU National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) or PVAMU Council of Student Organizations (CSO) member organizations and meets the minimum PVAMU Membership Intake Process (MIP) Program criteria to participate.
  • When should I register to attend a GLP Workshop?
    • You should register for the GLP Workshop during the semester in which you would like to engage in the PVAMU MIP Program AND your preferred organization will participate in the PVAMU MIP Program during the same semester.
  • How should I select the GLP Workshop to register for?
    • When deciding what GLP Workshop date to register for, you should review your class and work schedules prior to registering for a specific date.  Additionally, you should verify if the respective organization that you prefer to affiliate with during the particular semester will participate in the PVAMU MIP Program.  Due to limited workshop spaces in a course, you can only attend the specified date and course you have been assigned.
