The Alumni Initiation Pinning Ceremony is designed to serve as a bridge from student to alumnus and recognizes graduating seniors for the current semester. Vital information such as the importance of giving back to the university is also disseminated.
Highlights of the evening include remarks from an alumnus, a National Alumni Association Representative, and candidates receive their official alumni lapel pin. The ceremony also concludes with a reception.
The Pin is a 1” diameter die struck custom antique brass lapel pin. It is an exclusive item and cannot be ordered outside the program. It is not distributed outside the ceremony, meaning, in order to receive the pin, you must attend the pinning services and take the oath. The Alumni pin should be worn on the left at commencement and at alumni events.
