Abstract Guidelines

Students and Faculty Advisors are expected to adhere to the following guidelines for abstract submission:

  • Abstracts should contain no more than 350 words and should summarize the background for your research, research hypothesis, methodology, the results you have obtained, and their significance.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated for their conciseness and accuracy of the work described on your poster.
  • Posters should not exceed 4 feet by 4 feet.
  • Students should communicate with Faculty Advisors regarding the submission of abstracts.
  • Special attention should be paid to the style you are using (i.e. APA, MLA).

  • Title: Centered; 14-Point Arial Font; Bold; Upper and Lower Case
  • Authors Name(s): Centered; 12-Point Arial; Underline Presenting Author’s Name
  • Affiliation(s): Centered; 12-Point Arial; Department(s) and Name of Institution(s)
  • Abstract Text: One Double Space After Author(s); Left Justified; 12-Point Arial; 350 Words or Less

Please ensure that the abstract includes the following components:

  • Background
  • Research Hypothesis
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Significance and Implications
