The following document will provide you with helpful tips when preparing to submit your IBC Protocol:

Principal Investigator Training:
Biosafety Level 2 Training:
- 2111758 : Biosafety Level 2 Training – Initial. The first class must be done in person either with Dr. Bruce Whitney or through the TAMU Biosafety Office. Subsequent refresher classes can be taken on Train Traq.
Note: All non-System employees must complete their training using the external gateway. Password provided by the Research Compliance Office upon request.
The following forms are for use to gain initial IBC approval:
- Part I- IBC Protocol– Applicable to ALL Protocols- Updated 04/2018
- Part II- Agent Information– Applicable to ALL Protocols
- Part III- Viral Vector Information– Applicable to ONLY Protocols using Viral Vectors
- Part IV- Personnel Information– Applicable to Biosafety Level 2 Protocol ONLY
- Biosafety Training– Applicable to ALL Protocols
To amend an IBC Protocol:
All amendments to approved protocols must be submitted to the IBC prior to implementation. Amendments may include, but are not limited to:
- Addition of personnel
- Change in experiment location
- Change in agents
Please submit the following form:
30 days before your initial approval expires, complete the following form:
- IBC Protocol Annual Update Form– Updated 5/21/19
