Our state-of-the-art fitness center spans an impressive 10,000 square feet, housing a diverse array of workout spaces. Choose from 50 cardio machines, 33 sectorized equipment options, and 30 plate-loaded/free-weight pieces to personalize your fitness routine.

Fitness Center Policies & Procedures

  1. Age Restriction: Individuals below the age of 14 are not permitted in the fitness center.
  2. Personal Training: Only PVAMU Rec Sports employees are authorized to provide personal training services.
  3. Footwear Requirement: Closed-toe athletic shoes are mandatory.
  4. Attire Guidelines: Altered articles of clothing are not allowed.
  5. Hydration: Please ensure your drinking bottle has a sealable or closeable lid.
  6. Individual Fitness Levels: Work out at a pace that suits your own fitness level.
  7. Equipment Sharing: Be considerate and allow others to “work in” with you when using equipment for multiple sets.
  8. Handling Weights: Please refrain from dropping weights to maintain a safe environment.
  9. Equipment Placement: Do not remove weights, benches, or equipment from their designated areas.
  10. Track Usage: Fitness equipment should not be brought onto the track.
  11. Safety First: Always use a spotter when lifting weights at maximum capacity.
  12. Weight Re-racking: After use, please return the weights to their designated storage locations.
  13. Accessory Organization: All accessories must be returned to their assigned areas.
  14. Equipment Usage: Use each piece of equipment for its intended purpose; for example, avoid standing on dumbbells.
