Campus Tours

General Information

Can I visit with my financial aid counselor during the tour?
If you have been admitted, completed the FAFSA, we can contact their office and request an appointment, otherwise, it is not part of the tour.

Can the university accommodate someone with special needs on a tour?
Yes, the tour will be coordinated with our Disability Services office. Let us know what services are needed at the time of scheduling. Please call at least 24 hours in advance to make accommodations.  The phone number is: 936 261 3581.

Do you offer weekend tours?
The 1st Saturday of each month, unless it falls on a holiday. Updates are placed on the website. So check the website periodically.

Explain what will occur during a campus tour?
You will watch a video on the History of Prairie View, if you choose, eat lunch in the campus cafeteria, meet current students and ask them questions, tour the campus and visit the campus housing.

Parking

Will I need a visitor parking permit for tours?
It is not required, but highly recommended. Stop at the visitors’ center to get a parking permit. Without a permit, you stand the chance of getting a ticket.

Scheduling

What time will campus tour start? How long are tours?
All tours begin at 10 am and last approximately two hours, including lunch. If not eating lunch, appx. one hour.
