Public Relations is responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating and implementing the university’s public relations and alumni relations imitative by utilizing technology to effectively communicate the university’s mission, goals, programs, events, and achievements to all stake holders; and serve as the University’s spokesperson and principal writer for the University publication.
- Provide administrative direction in the implementation and execution of the programs in the units that comprise the Office of University Communications.
- Oversee and implement strategic use of various communications vehicles.
- Provide ongoing assessment of the University’s marketing, branding and communication practices.
- Work in collaboration with colleges, schools, and departments to develop story ideas and distribute information In support of the University’s goal including student recruitment and fundraising.
- Forgo strong alliances with the PVAMU alumni community for the advancement of the University’s mission, goal, and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Office of Development, the PVAMU Foundation, the National Alumni Association, various alumni chapters, and other University affinity groups to support fundraising goals of the University.
- Develop and manage the annual departmental budget for the unit and for the separate departments to insure compliance with university regulations and achievement of unit goals.
