Professional development is an activity that when correctly employed, helps students gain specific skills to not only increase their potential, but also to realize it.  The PVAMU College of Business hosts specific professional development workshops in MGMT 2000: Professional Development for Business.

Professional Development (PD) for Business provides students with the skills necessary for successful performance during internships and within the professional work environment.  Workshops highlight the internship process, introduce students to the professional development resources available in the College of Business, and orient students to career-related, strategic decision-making. Topics include the role of internships, dressing for success, the interview process, business etiquette, public speaking, networking, and work-life balance to name a few.

Classes are from 5:00 p.m. until 6:20 p.m. Wednesdays from January 18, 2012 through April 25, 2012 in the Hobart Taylor Building, room 1A110.  Workshops are open to business and non-business students as well as interested members of the PVAMU community.

For more information about PD, contact Dr. Lawrence McNeil, assistant professor of economics at (936) 261-9205.
