Entry Requirements

All applicants Must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning, with an overall 2.5 or greater grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 system (Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency).

  • Provide an official transcript of all university course work from all  universities or colleges attended.

  • Have passed all three sections of the state mandated basic skills test (THEA) with the following minimum scores:  Math 230, Writing 220, and Reading 260.

  • Be recommended by a screening committee for admission to the program.

  • Applicants for certification in Spanish and French must pass an oral (TOPT) and a written (TExES) proficiency examination.
