Business Faculty and Dean Publish Articles, Books

Dr. Munir Quddus, dean of the College of Business, has co-co-edited a special issue of The Journal of Bangladesh Studies (JB) on microfinance. His co-edited book, “Bangladesh Economy in the 21st Century: Selected Papers from the 2008 and 2009 Conferences on Bangladesh at Harvard University” has been published by The University Press Ltd. with Professor Farida Khan. 

Dr. Venu Balijepally is co-editing a special issue of the Journal of Systems and Software (JSS) titled, "Towards a Unified View of Agile Development.” The JSS is a respected journal in the Computer Science/IS field. This special issue is scheduled to available in print by mid-year, 2012.

Dr. Brian Lee has received word that his co-authored paper, "An Evaluation of Financial Analysts and Naive Methods in Forecasting Long-Term Earnings" (with Lacuna and Xu) has been accepted for publication in Advances in Business and Management Forecasting, 2011. This research was supported by a 2009 College of Business summer research grant.  

Dr. Reginald Bell’s article, “The Relevance of Scientific Management and Equity Theory in Everyday Managerial Communication Situations.” has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Management Policy and Practice (ISSN# 1913-8067). This is a refereed journal with a 12% to 18% acceptance rate.

 

PVAMU Staff Earn Promotion and Certifications

Effective November 1, 2011, Ms. Kimberly Gordon has been promoted to assistant dean for the College of Business. Ms. Gordon has worked in the College of Business since 2003 and is a PVAMU alumna. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. 

PVAMU Small Business Development Center Director Rebecca L. Faison is now a Certified Global Business Professional. Individuals who earn this credential and carry this designation from NASBITE CGBP have been afforded the distinction of being certified to employers and the public as individuals proficient in global commerce.
