Media Relations

The Office of Public Relations serves as the official media relations contact for Prairie View A&M University.

Ms. Sheleah D. Hughes is the Director of Public Relations and Official Spokesperson.

As the media's primary source of news and timely information, the media relations area is committed to providing accurate and relevant information with integrity and quality that enables the public to better understand the University, its mission and many contributions. This is achieved through the following activities:

• Works in consultation with the President and Executive Officers to determine broad messages to be conveyed to internal and external audiences.
• Strives to deliver clear and consistent information about the achievements, events, services of PVAMU and the accomplishments of its students, alumni, faculty, staff and administrators to the public in a timely, reliable and accurate manner
• Communicate with internal and external audiences
• Offers and coordinates services to enhance the visibility and accurately project the image of PVAMU
