Jeanice Dawes is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) and Juvenile law expert. While in law school, she was a member of the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and the UHLC Mock Trial team. Ms. Dawes has presented at the Center for Children, Law & Policy; University of Houston Law Center, and the Juvenile Law Institute sponsored by the Juvenile Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Jim Hawkins’ research and teaching interests include consumer borrowing, the fringe banking industry, bankruptcy, and secured credit. His research has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and National Public Radio. He earned his J.D. from University of Texas, where he was the Grand Chancellor and served as the Chief Articles Editor of the Texas Law Review. He joined the University of Houston Law Center after clerking for the Honorable Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Janice Oviatt is an OCU School of Law graduate with a special affinity for immigration law; having been raised in Australia, a country much like the U.S., with a steady influx of immigrants seeking a better life for themselves and their families. Her memberships and associations include the College of the State Bar, Houston NW Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and NW Houston Collaborative Family Law Professionals. Her primary areas of practice are Immigration, Family and Criminal Law.
