The intern will gain knowledge and understanding of Federal regulations surrounding Equal Opportunity (Title VII), affirmative action, Title IX and his or her application and impact in higher education. The intern will also gain general knowledge of discrimination prevention strategies through training and compliance report preparation. The intern will be able to use this experience to obtain gainful experience for any employer in employee relations or human resources as a whole.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in researching, collecting, maintaining and disseminating recent legal update in Employment Law
Assist in preparation of confidential search and investigation file for Records Retention Compliance schedule
Assist in organizing an maintain confidential correspondences and hiring data in preparation for an annual Affirmative Action Plan
Assist in gathering confidential data for departmental annual reports
Assist in preparation of EEO/AA training Power Point presentation and packets
Qualifications
Basic Microsoft Office experience and skills
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
