Group Counseling can be a very helpful and powerful tool in addressing the concerns of students. A group can offer an environment where students can address their concerns, increase self-understanding, and try out new behaviors while receiving feedback and support from peers who experience similar concerns. Groups generally consist of 5-10 members and meet on a weekly basis. An appointment with the group facilitator is necessary before becoming a member of any counseling group. Workshops are offered on a variety of topics to provide information that will enhance students' well being and teach new skills and strategies in coping with life's problems. Workshops are usually one session and last about two (2) hours. Students do not need an appointment with a counselor to attend the workshops, but we do suggest that you reserve a space in advance because of space limitations.
