“Making a Difference Starts with ME”
Beginning fall of this year, Prairie View A&M University will launch its Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign which will serve as the second component of the University’s Annual Fund. The first phase of the Annual Fund began in spring of 2010 with the start of the Alumni Giving Campaign. This consisted of student callers contacting alumni across the country soliciting unrestricted gifts. Since then we have hosted two additional calling sessions raising more $245,000 in gifts and pledges and more importantly, increasing our alumni giving percentage from single to double-digits.
The decision to add a Faculty/Staff phase is just the next logical step in building a diverse Annual Fund which is certain to become the foundation for all future fundraising initiatives. This year’s theme, “Making a Difference Starts with ME” was conceived by a group of employees to serve as a universal message showcasing their commitment to the institution as well as placing the onus for success on them. This year’s goal will focus on employee participation rather than monetary totals– we want to display a campus-wide dedication or as we like to refer to, “An All Campus Approach.”
