The Masters Degree in School Counseling allows students to address the social, emotional, academic, behavioral and cognitive well-being of children and adolescents within a school setting. This rigorous online degree in School Counseling includes online courses and hybrid courses with field training experiences. As part of the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education Advanced Professional Education Unit, this degree program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Individuals choosing this area of specialization typically pursue careers as school counselors and also obtain employment in other educational settings.
Our Educational Administration program is fully accredited by NCATE and has been recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC). Prairie View A&M University has networked with universities in the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) to provide opportunity for aspiring principals in the state of Texas to complete their Masters in Educational Administration totally online. Through the TAMUS partnership, our online Educational Administration Program has a maximum of ten (10) scholarships to be offered during the 2011-2012 academic school year.
