Assignment Table: This table describes the primary and secondary assignments for ENGL 1123.  It provides a brief overview of each assignment (including length and formatting guidelines), a list of the objectives for each assignment, and an alignment of each assignment’s objectives with the university’s core curriculum outcomes for communications.

Turnitin: This link takes you to the login page for Turnitin.  When you enroll in ENGL 1123 you must acquire access to Turnitin, an online composition toolkit.  All of your major assignments will be submitted through Turnitin; major assignments that are not submitted through Turnitin will not be accepted. REQUIRED COURSE READINGS

“Analytical Writing”: This required reading establishes the basic conceptual framework for ENGL 1123.  All college writing involves critical analysis, the development of interpretive and evaluative arguments through a process of observing and interrogating relevant evidence.  This reading lays out the key terms and expectations for writing that engages in critical analysis.

"Culture in Need of an Extreme Makeover": This required reading is also available in the textbook (272-73).
