Welcome to Prairie View A&M University, one of the two oldest State supported institutions for higher education in Texas and a co-charter member of the Texas A&M University system. We affectionately refer to this great and venerable university setting as "The Hill". For not only within the geographical terrain of Waller County the first true hills are encountered coming from the Gulf Coastal Plains of Texas, but we always look to the hill from whence cometh our help, and to this care PVAMU serves the citizens of the state of Texas and the World "at the point of their greatest need" through teaching, research and service. To be a member of the Prairie View Family is a unique and rewarding experience. To matriculate through theses noble halls of learning is to become an inheritor of a rich legacy with a clear commitment to cultivating knowledge in inspired future leaders. For as our great historian, Professor Emeritus Dr. George R. Wolfolk states, "Prairie View is an institution-a public institution is an empty thing without the beating hearts and yearning souls of mortal men. And down the years of our existence, men have lived and dreamed here until every blade of grass and every rock, in that wise primordial way in which the primitive earth knows and cares, has joined the choir invisible to bless their memory. For every man whose foot has touched this hallowed soil has found a spirit, and has broadened and deepened it until what started out as an ambitionless meandering stream has become a purposeful river upon whose tide, now turbulent, now tranquil, floats the destiny of countless human hopes and dreams." Administration and Auxiliary Services consist of those Primary Business and Support Operations (Students Center, Bookstore-Exchange, Dining, Laundry, Health Services, Residential Life, Police Department, Physical Plant, Campus Mail & KPVU Radio Station) designed to provide for the service needs of students, faculty, staff and guests. All of our services are designed to support, enhance and facilitate the education process. These services include a comprehensive system of innovative and continuously improving essential programs and activities designed to meet or exceed our customer expectations of quality. This site has been designed to acquaint you (our Customer) with the key offerings & services available throughout our campus and to serve as a guide that will enable you to easily access them.
