Q. Can the online MBA be completed entirely online?
A. Yes. No campus visits are required.
Q. Is the GMAT required prior to admission?
A. No. You can be provisionally admitted without a GMAT score (but you must take the GMAT after completing 12 semester credit hours or the equivalent of four online MBA courses).
Q. Is there a minimum undergraduate GPA requirement?
A. The minimum undergraduate GPA is 2.45. If you have special circumstances, please contact the director of the graduate programs in business at (936) 261-9215 for additional information.
Q. Will my degree say, “Online MBA”? My employer has some concerns.
A. Upon satisfying the degree requirements, your degree will be from Prairie View A&M University.
Q. Do I need an undergraduate business degree?
A. No. Many of our students have undergraduate degrees in other fields of study such as liberal arts or engineering.
Q. Is this an accredited MBA program?
A. Prairie View A&M University College of Business is fully accredited by AACSB International, the premier accrediting agency for bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctoral degree programs in business administration. Many other popular online MBA programs do not have this level of accreditation.
Q. How many courses are required?
A. Twelve (12) semester-long courses are required (36 hours). We offer classes in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Many students complete the MBA program in two years. (Additional courses may be required if you do not have a recent undergraduate business degree.)
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Tuition and fees for Texas residents are approximately $900 per course. For non-Texas residents, tuition and fees are approximately $1800 per course. Q. Is financial aid available?
A. Yes. Students must enroll in at least six (6) hours as a graduate student at Prairie View A&M University and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. PVAMU’s Federal School Code is: 003630.
Q. Does the College of Business offer scholarships?
A. Yes. Scholarships are competitive and awarded for the fall and spring semesters. Students need to apply for a College of Business scholarship at least one semester before they expect to receive funds. Scholarship applications are available beginning February 1, for the fall semester and beginning October 1, for the spring semester. Applications are available via the website.
Q. Where is Prairie View A&M University?
A. The main campus is located in Waller County approximately 40 miles northwest of Houston and one mile north of US Highway 290 on Farm Road 1098. The College of Nursing facility is located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Prairie View A&M University recently purchased an academic facility in northwest Harris County; the two-story building, near Tomball Parkway and FM 1960, is located at 9449 Grant Road north of Willowbrook Mall.
