The Prairie View A&M University Transfer Scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding students who will be transferring to Prairie View A&M University.   The scholarships are being automatically offered to qualifying students who meet transfer hour and GPA criteria:

• Degree Distinguished Transfer Scholarship
  The Degree Distinguished Transfer Scholarship award is $3,600 per year.  In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50.  One must also have an AA, AS, and/or AAS degree.
• Degree Transfer Recognition Scholarship
  The Degree Transfer Recognition Scholarship award is $3,000.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.25.  One must also have an AA, AS, and/or AAS degree.
• Degree Transfer Achievement Scholarship
  The Degree Transfer Recognition Scholarship award is $2,400.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.00.  One must also have an AA, AS, and/or AAS degree.
• Distinguished Transfer Scholarship
  The Degree Transfer Recognition Scholarship award is $2,400.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50.  One must also have completed a minimum of 24 non-PVAMU college credit hours.
• Transfer Recognition Scholarship
  The Transfer Recognition Scholarship award is $1,800.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.25.  One must also have completed a minimum of 24 non-PVAMU college credit hours.
• Transfer Achievement Scholarship
  The Transfer Achievement Scholarship award is $1,200.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.00.  One must also have completed a minimum of 24 non-PVAMU college credit hours.
• Transfer Incentive Award
  The Transfer Incentive Award is $1,000.00 per year. In order to qualify for the scholarship, an individual must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.50 - 2.99.  One must also have completed a minimum of 15 non-PVAMU college credit hours. The recipient must also be THEA exempt or all sections passed. 

Application for admission is the only application required.
Funds are limited and awards are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Scholarship recipients will receive a notification letter and a participation agreement.  To accept an offered scholarship, the participation agreement must be returned to the University within two weeks of the offer. 

Selection criteria for The Prairie View A&M University Transfer Scholarships are:

• Accepted to PVAMU;
• Complete a Free Application for Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).  International students must complete the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA;
• Previous attendance at an accredited community college and/or university;
• Students that already have PVAMU credit hours are also ineligible.

Scholarships may be renewed for your subsequent years at PVAMU. To renew the scholarship, students must:

• Have received the scholarship the previous year;
• Maintain full-time academic status (at least 12 hours per semester), otherwise the scholarship is automatically forfeited. Appeals for the scholarship must be made to the Prairie View A&M University Scholarship Committee. All decisions made by the committee are final;
• Maintain at least a 3.00 PVAMU Grade Point Average.
• Transfer Scholarships are unavailable during the summer semesters.
