Notice of Change in Process
Effective with the Spring 2010 Semester
Students intending to graduate must submit a completed Application for Graduation to the Office of the Registrar by the due date in the semester preceding the semester they intend to graduate. The deadline for applying for graduation is printed each semester in the Academic Calendar at www.pvamu.edu/pages/2934.asp
The student should review their academic records with their academic advisor to determine if they are eligible to graduate prior to applying for graduation.
Missed the Application for Graduation deadline?
If you missed the Application for Graduation deadline and wish to apply you must be aware that you run the risk of not having your name printed in the commencement program and a delay in processing your graduation audit.
If you still wish to apply for graduation late after reading the above; you must:
- Appeal in writing to your Academic Department Head for a late application acceptance.
Note; if the appeal is accepted:
- The Department Head will make a recommendation to the Dean
- The Dean will forward a recommendation to the Office of the Provost for approval.
- The Provost will notify the Office of the Registrar to process the late application and assess applicable graduation fees plus a late application fee.
Reminder: You run the risk of not having your name printed in the commencement program and a delay in processing your graduation audit when applying for graduation after the published deadline.
