Prairie View A&M University’s Roy G. Perry Roy G. Perry College of Engineering has distinguished itself as a premier program. The College maintains a reputation for integrating theoretical knowledge with advanced hands-on industry experience. Many of its graduates are employed throughout the business and technological communities through Fortune 500 companies and as successful entrepreneurs. Overall, the College’s programs produce graduates that are equipped to exercise a competitive advantage in several engineering disciplines.
Currently, the College offers four master’s degree programs and one doctoral degree. The Master of Science in Engineering degree program provides concentrated study in chemical, civil, environmental or mechanical engineering. The master degree programs in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems and Electrical Engineering provide opportunities for advanced technological research. In addition, the doctoral program in Electrical Engineering is well supported by the new state-ofthe- art electrical engineering building with facilities and laboratories where graduate students can engage in extensive research training and instruction.
Mission
The mission of the Roy G. Perry Roy G. Perry College of Engineering is to sustain an infrastructure that will attract and maintain a world-class faculty that produces and trains graduates set to meet and exceed the highest level of professional standards. These graduates will be prepared for a career of life-long learning that will result in leaders, productive workers, innovators and entrepreneurs who will positively impact the increasingly multi-disciplinary and diverse national economy. The College serves as a value added partner with the University to excel in engineering education and research and to service and maintain its relevance to regional, national and global communities.
