Policy: Code of Conduct and Ethics Statement

Purpose: To establish a framework and set standards that guide on how to conduct your self as a student of Prairie View A&M University

 CUSTOMER SERVICE GUARANTEE

Students, Faculty, Staff, Parents and campus visitors can expect the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships staff to be friendly, welcoming, courteous, fair and respectful.

Staff will provide accurate and specific answers to inquiries and problems.

 1.    Provide a timely, courteous acknowledgement, such as eye contact or a positive indication that we know a customer is waiting,             especially if we are on the phone or with another customer
2.     Listen to requests/questions
3.     Be helpful, knowledgeable, and provide accurate information
4.     Be polite whenever we communicate – in person, in writing, by phone, fax or e-mail
5.     Invite and answer questions
6.     Respect the dignity of all and show empathy and consideration
7.     Contribute to a positive work environment
8.     All telephone calls will be answered promptly and in a professional and courteous manner

 BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT FINANCIAL AID

1.     Please Check Panthertracks
2.     Make sure you have the correct documents
3.     Carefully read all documents and fill out completely and sign 
4.     Make copies of all documents you are submitting
5.     Students will be serviced individually or with a parent/legal guardian
                   i. Two-parent/legal guardian maximum
6.     Be sure to have your STUDENT ID
7.     Please be mindful of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships dress code policy.

 DURING YOUR VISIT AT FINANCIAL AID

1.     Wait one at a time to approach sign-in kiosk
2.     Have a seat and wait for your name to be called
                   i.  Please have STUDENT ID ready
3.     Please be respectful of your fellow panthers and the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships staff and refrain from eating and/or               drinking
4.     Please refrain from talking on your cell phone during your visit
5.     Please refrain from using headphones during your visit
                   i.   You are responsible for hearing your name called
6.     Take notes during your visit with a counselor/designated person you are meeting with
7.     Please request a business card before you leave

 


 PLEASE KEEP IN MIND

 In compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA),
in order to receive Financial Aid & Scholarship Service you must present your ID.

 NO EXCEPTIONS



AFTER YOUR FINANCIAL AID VISIT

 Follow-up appropriately

·      Check Panthertracks
·      Complete any task a counselor may have informed you to do
·      Follow up by proper correspondence

FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS DRESS CODE
Ladies

 Please refrain from wearing clothing that is too revealing

·      Minimum Cleavage
·      Stomach should be covered
·      All undergarments should be covered
·      Shorts/Skirts should be at an appropriate length
·      No pajamas should be worn during your visit

 Gentlemen

 ·      Please remove hats
·      Please have your pants pulled up and no undergarments showing
·      Refrain from wearing cut off shirts
·      No pajamas should be worn during your visit
