Center for Energy & Environmental Sustainability (CEES) at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) supports rigorous and expanding program of research and teaching in the areas of renewable energy and environmental sustainability. CEES will focus on innovative technical solutions in the energy arena and will engage PVAMU students on research questions that lead to science and technological breakthroughs needed to fill critical gaps in the future utilization of environmentally responsible and sustainable energy solutions.
CEES promotes research in the areas of biofuels, energy & environment and wind energy. CEES research team investigates technologies and develops solutions to a variety of issues relating to the environment. More Information on the center at www.pvamu.edu/cees

The Stable Isotopes for Biosphere Science (SIBS) lab at Texas A&M University conducts stable isotopic analysis of organic and inorganic materials. These include soils recording carbon and nitrogen cycle processes, plant tissues across spatial and temporal gradients, animal tissues with different origins or from different species, water from throughout the hydrologic cycle, and atmospheric gases that participate in many biosphere processes.
The lab focuses on research efforts led by the laboratory’s associated scientists, but also provides analyses of outside samples. Samples are analyzed using Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry and Laser Spectroscopy approaches. Carbon (δ13C), nitrogen (δ15N), hydrogen (δ2H) and oxygen (δ18O) isotope ratio analyses are routinely conducted in the laboratory.
