Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Awards

Guidelines/Eligibility

  1. All Faculty teaching classes of 3 SCH or more with 15 or more students are eligible
    • Adjunct, Lecturer, Instructor, Assistant, Associate and Full Professors
    • Full-Time or Part-Time
    • Tenure-Track or Non-Tenure Track
  2. Awards are based on the average score of the System-Wide Faculty Evaluation form which is comprised of twenty questions with five questions developed by each of the following groups
    • Chancellor’s Student Advisory Board
    • System Faculty Senates
    • Presidents and Provosts
    • System Administrative Office
  3. Faculty are eligible for only one award per semester, but are eligible based upon each individual course taught and not based upon the average of their course scores
  1. Faculty must directly teach a minimum of 90% of each course to be eligible
  2. Awards shall be granted within 8 weeks from the end of the semester based upon the results of the evaluations
  3. Participation in the Awards Program is voluntary on the part of the faculty but, to be eligible for the award, each participant must register by October 1st.
  4. The Provost shall have the responsibility of collecting, analyzing and reporting the results of the student evaluations to the President who shall then make the awards.
  5. The awards shall be based on two separate categories
    • The top 3% of classes based upon student responses out of the total number of participating courses shall receive an award in the amount of at least $5,000 for classes between 15 and 25 students with an additional $30 per student above 25 to a maximum of $10,000 total award.
    • The next 15% shall receive an award in the amount of at least $2,500 for classes between 15 and 25 students with an additional $15 per student above 25 up to a maximum of $5,000 total award.
