Mission Statement
Civil engineers are involved in the planning, design, construction, and operation of facilities essential to modern life. The mission of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is to produce civil engineers who will become practitioners, leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs. The department will attract and retain high quality faculty and maintain state of the art infrastructure to excel in teaching, research and service. The department through its rigorous curriculum and hands-on laboratory and design projects, will educate students and engage them in research and service activities so that they can make significant contributions to society and the advancement of quality of life.
Program Educational Objectives (Revised November 2010)
Prairie View A&M University’s Civil Engineering program is accredited by Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202 – telephone: 410-347-7700).
