U. S. Marshall
Lafayette Collins became the new U. S. Marshall for the Western Judicial District of Texas after the Senate unanimously confirmed his appointment and President Bush signed the commission that allowed him to take office (March 2004). Collins’ expansive district stretches from San Antonio to El Paso, and includes Del Rio, Austin and Waco. Senators Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn previously recommended Collins to President Bush.
