Where can I find out about the financial aid process and information?
How can I apply & receive Financial Aid?
Step1: Apply for admission as a degree-seeking student.
Step 2: Review the universities Scholarship web page to search and apply for merit-based aid.
Step 3: Must be enrolled in at least six (6) hours as an undergraduate or graduate student at Prairie View A&M University.
Step 4: You must be a citizen of the United States of American or an eligible non-citizen.
Step 5: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. www.fafsa.ed.gov
Step 6: You must meet PVAMU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress standards (SAP).
Step 7: Before an award is disbursed to an account, ALL STUDENTS are required to complete the mandatory “Life Skills” financial literacy program.
Step 8: Check your award status on PantherTracks.
Step 9: If awarded a Federal Stafford Loan (Subsidized or Unsubsidized), you must select a lender and e-sign you master promissory note.
Step 10: Enroll in PV pay to have your financial aid refund electronically delivered to your bank account.
Step 11: Stay informed! Periodically, review our Announcements page.
If selected for verification what should I do?
If your application is selected for Verification, or if there are discrepancies on your application information, we will send you a letter that will outline the documents you will be required to provide. Do not submit any documents unless we ask you to do so. Aid funds cannot be disbursed to you until you submit all requested documents and the accuracy of your information has been checked. This can take six weeks or longer.
Documentation will consist of signed copies of most income-tax returns (1040 & W-2s) as well as the completed and signed appropriate verification form. Some exceptions to documentation may be made in conjunction with what is allowed by federal regulation

Where can I find information on Scholarships?
Prairie View A&M University has many scholarships that have been made available through the generous donations of alumni and friends of the university. The scholarships listed are available for incoming freshmen and community college transfer students that plan to attend Prairie View A&M University.
Students who wish to be considered for scholarships must file a Prairie View A&M University Admission Application. Scholarships are then awarded based upon merit and available funding. Scholarship eligibility, criteria, and amounts may change at any time without prior notice.
