Has served as the dean of chapel since February 1994. Reverend Lewter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from American Baptist College, Nashville, Tennessee. He also has earned the Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion with a Concentration in Christian Education. He has done some post graduate work in the area of Educational Administration at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. During his tenure as dean, Reverend Lewter has implemented programs that will enhance the worship experience for students matriculating at Prairie View A&M University. Continuing the dream of his predecessor dean Lewter has made the Annual Ministers’ Conference more inclusive with men and women participating in ministry. Campus Ministry still continues to grow with new and innovative ways to worship the Creator that students serve. Dean Lewter Motto for living is “If I can help someone along this way, then my living shall not be in vain.”
In February of 1994, he became the third dean of the chapel. Reverend Lewter's vision gave opportunity for programming to become diversified among ecumenical fellowships. Also, new equipment, a state of the art sound system, and many new ministries were developed. Furthermore, his leadership has empowered students to become effective leaders for the 21st century.
