New Faculty
Dr. Quincy C Moore III
Graduate of Jackson State University with his undergraduate degree in biology. He received his Masters from Auburn University and his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He has postdoctoral training in Bacterial Ocular Infections from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Moore, an Assistant Professor, is an addition to the PVAMU Biology Faculty since Fall 2009. He serves as a professor of Microbiology and College Biology. He is currently working as a co-advisor with student groups such as Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) and Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS). He also serves as a research mentor for several undergraduates. His research involves the Characterization of the Role of Streptococcus pneumoniae in Bacterial Keratitis using both an animal model and tissue culture.
Dr. Moore also serves as Editor of the Biology Department’s newsletter “The DNA” (The Daily News Assays) since Fall 2010.
