General Description
The College of Arts and Sciences at Prairie View A & M University invites applications for a tenure-track position of assistant professor in any of the following areas analytical chemistry,  Inorganic chemistry or Biochemistry. This appointment is anticipated to begin in September 1, 2009 and subject to budgetary and administrative approval. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate general chemistry courses, and advanced topics in area of specialization. The successful candidate will develop an active, high quality, funded research program in his or her  area of specialty. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests relating to forensic science applications.   
Salary
Commensurate with experience and qualifications 
Education
All candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry   
Experience
One year post doctoral experience is required. The University seeks an outstanding scholar with research and teaching expertise in one or both of the following areas: Analytical chemistry, forensic chemistry. 
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Successful candidates are expected to develop a vigorous and productive research program. They will also show promise of excellence in teaching both at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
