General Description
The College of Business at Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position available at the Assistant Professor level effective fall 2009.  Normal teaching load is 9 hours per semester for faculty actively engaged in research. Areas of teaching include investment, international finance, and speculative markets, besides principles of finance. The College has evening/weekend graduate and undergraduate programs and the successful candidate should be willing to teach courses in the evening/weekend. Publication in refereed journals is supported and required for tenure and promotion.
 
The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International. It offers two graduate programs (MBA and MS in accounting) and a BBA program with five majors and eight minors. With over 1,000 students and about 40 faculty, the College offers quality business education to its clientele.
 
Established in 1876 as a land-grant institution, Prairie View A&M University is a member of the Texas A&M University System. It is located on 1,400 acre of prairie land about 20 miles away from northwest Houston on US 290 going to Austin. Ethnically diverse northwest Houston features excellent residential neighborhoods and award-winning public schools, quality shopping and healthcare facilities. Salary
Commensurate with experience and qualifications 
Education
A terminal degree in economics from an AACSB-accredited university and some publications would be preferred but ABDs, who are at an advanced stage of dissertation, will also be considered
Experience
Experience in teaching ethics, entrepreneurship, and statistics would be ideal.  
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Ability to teach a wide variety of courses in economics with special emphasis in International economics.
