    Darryl H. Thompson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Music and Drama. He received his Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Florida. He teaches Stage Diction, Stage Movement, Acting Styles and Directing. He is trained in the systems of Arthur Lessac, The Alexander Technique, Constantine Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Sanford Meisner, and Anne Bogart.

   

    As an actor, Mr. Thompson has an extensive resume with such roles as Tom in The Glass Menagerie, Jonathan in Arsenic and Old Lace, Emcee in Cabaret, Arnold in The Boys Next Door, Scrooge in The Christmas Carol, the world premier of BING, BANG, BOOM, Brother Boy in Sordid Lives, Crumpet the Elf in Santaland Diaries, and toured in Greece as Adam in As You Like It.

   

    Directing credits include, The Laramie Project, ‘night Mother, Rumors, The Tempest, The Chalky White Substance, Unheard Voices: the slaves’ narratives, and Lost In Yonkers.

 

    He has also worked with several Broadway and Hollywood talents including Larry Alford, Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Demme, Peter Palmer, Ken Howard, and Yanci Bukovec, and the New York based Shakespeare Aquila Theatre Company.

    Mr. Thompson is the Vice President of Houston Theatre Company, Unhinged Productions, and serves as Director of Grants.
