A similar activity, “Physics of Hovercrafts” involves the use of a four-foot diameter circular hovercraft manufactured by PASCO. The students use this to investigate Newton’s three laws of motion as well as principles of momentum and collisions. Both the roller coaster and hovercraft activities illustrate the relationship between position, velocity and acceleration.
