Rice IBB - Institute Of Biosciences And Bioengineering
This Institute hosts the nationwide HHMI-funded summer undergrauate internship entitiled "Education Interdisciplinary Scienctists for Bionanotechnology: A Bottom-up Approach." The goal of this program is to expose students to modern biology.
Immersion of students in a cross-discpline is considered the most effective means to facilitate interdisciplinary research. Students who participate in this program should overcome the communication barriers in interdiscplinary collaborations, as they will be highly conversant in the biological sciences. We hope that you will join us in the discovery of Bionanotechnology!
Seminars During the research internship, students will
also participate in a weekly seminar series
featuring talks from leading experts in
Bionanotechnology.
Lunch Meetings We will have several lunch meetings to discuss
topics such as career options, applying to
graduate school, and issues associated with
being part of an interdisciplinary team.
Symposium At the end of the program, we will hold a research
symposium, where interns will present posters on
their research.
