Research Collaborations:

The Department has several ongoing collaborative programs with schools, colleges, universities, government and the industry. The following are a representative sample of these collaborations. The names of the physics faculty and staff involved in the collaboration appear in parentheses.

  1. PVAMU-NASA Center for Applied Radiation Research (CARR) [Saganti & Storr]
  2. PV Solar Observatory [Cudnik]
  3. Mentor-Protégé Program, with Embedded Engineering Plus (a small woman-owned company in Arizona) as the Protégé, Boeing Phantomworks as the Mentor and Prairie View A&M University as the university partner (US Air Force). [Kumar & Paick]
  4. Expanding Conventional Seismic Stratigraphy into the Multicomponent Seismic Domain, with Bureau of Economic Geology, Austin (Department of Energy). [Aluka]
  5. Small Business Mentoring Program  (US SPA, DARPA, SBA through the Science & Engineering Alliance (SEA). This project involves collaborations among four HBCUs (Alabama A&M University, Jackson State University, Prairie View A&M University and Southern University-Baton Rouge) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
