The Regents’ Student Merit Scholarship is the University’s most prestigious award. The Regents’ scholarship is $10,000 per academic year ($40,000.00 over eight semesters.) The Regents’ scholars will also receive an additional scholarship to meet the cost for 15 semester credit hours, housing, and books ($600 per semester). Regents’ Scholars are also eligible for University Out-of-State Waivers. Hence, constituting a full scholarship to the University. The criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
Must have graduated from a high school within 12 months of enrolling at Prairie View A&M University.
Student can not be considered a transfer student from another college or university.
Must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative high school GPA. (3.50 on a 4.0 scale)
Must have a minimum 1760 SAT or 26 composite ACT score. Please note, the writing component (essay) is required.

Presidential Academic Scholarship
The Presidential Academic Scholarship is $9,200.00 per year ($36,800.00 over eight semesters). Presidential Academic Scholars are also eligible for University Out-of-State Waivers. The criteria for the Presidential scholarship are as follows:
Must have graduated from a high school within 12 months of enrolling at Prairie View A&M University.
Student can not be considered a transfer student from another college or university.
Must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. (3.25 on a 4.0 scale)
Must have a minimum 1650 SAT or 24 composite ACT score. Please note, the writing component is required.
The Presidential Academic Scholarships are renewable up to four years (eight semesters) provided the student maintains a 15 Hour Semester Load and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Distinguished Achievement Academic Scholarship
The Distinguished Achievement Scholarship is $6,400.00 per year ($25,600.00 over eight semesters). Distinguished Achievement Scholars are also eligible for University Out-of-State Waivers. The criteria for the Distinguished Achievement scholarship are as follows:
Must have graduated from a high school within 12 months of enrolling at Prairie View A&M University.
Student can not be considered a transfer student from another college or university.
Must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative high school GPA. (3.00 on a 4.0 scale)
Must have a minimum 1500 SAT or 21 composite ACT score. Please note, the writing component (essay) is required.
The Distinguished Achievement Academic Scholarships are renewable up to four years (eight semesters) provided the student maintains a 15 Hour Semester Load and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
