Endowed Scholarships

Endowment scholarships are made available through funding generated by the foundations established in honorable memory of notable alumni, friends, and contributors of Prairie View A&M University. These scholarships are primarily awarded by the varying colleges and departments of the University. Select endowments may be awarded through the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships through the General Scholarship Application. Please see the designated department for awarding process. 

 

Alvin Hayes Sr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Anderson Bonner Endowment Scholarship

Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Open to all classifications
  • Must have a semester GPA of 2.0 and a Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or  
  • Incoming Freshmen must have a High School GPA of 2.0
  • Must have FAFSA on file
  • Applicant must have attended or be able to provide proof of a parent who attended Anderson Bonner, Hamilton Park or Richardson Independent School District
  • Submit with application, 3 letters of recommendation and a 3 page letter as to why you should be awarded the Anderson Bonner Scholarship

Cpt. Leroy Thomas Jr. Scholarship

Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Must be a Texas resident;
  • Full-time, Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors of any major;
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA;
  • Must have completed at least 36 semester credit hours.
  • Must be a member of Tho Theta Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. or parent is a graduate/member.

Dolfrank Scholarship

Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Open to all students;
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA (high school 3.0 cumulative GPA);
  • Must be recommended by at least one faculty/staff member;
  • Must submit a 500 word essay with biographical information, course of study, intended academic major and career goals.

Extend the View Endowment

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA;
  • Merit based.

Awarded to students with a 3.0 GPA.

Ford/EEOC Endowment Scholarship

College of Business/ College of Engineering

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Awarded to students with a 2.5 GPA.

George Foundation

Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Must be resident of Fort Bend Country, Texas;
  • Minimum 2.7 GPA;
  • Need based or lack of financial resources;
  • Must have a FAFSA on file.

Awarded to students with a 2.70 GPA.

George R. Hadnot Engineering Endowment
