Traditional Track (PDF linked)

  • 42 SCH from the Core Curriculum 
  • 12 SCH in college foreign language requirements (1 language)
  • 30 SCH in major requirements (SPAN 3093, 3203, 3213, 4003 and 18 semester credit hours above the sophomore level)
  • 18-24 SCH in minor requirements
  • 18 SCH of unrestricted electives (may be reduced if the minor requires more than 18 SCH)

120 SCH for total degree requirements

  • 42 SCH from the Core Curriculum
  • 12 SCH in college foreign language requirements (1 language)
  • 30 SCH in major requirements (SPAN 3093, 3203, 3213, 4003 and 18 semester credit hours above the sophomore level)
  • 12 SCH in 3000- or 4000-level ECED (Early Childhood Education) and SPED (Special Education) courses, selected in consultation with a departmental advisor

Minor in Spanish

The Spanish minor is a popular option for biology majors who plan to attend medical school and who wish to be bilingual to assist future patients.

Requirements include 18SCH of Spanish courses at the 3000 and 4000 levels. All four semesters of elementary and intermediate Spanish must be completed as prerequisites (or equivalent AP / CLEP credit presented) before a student can enroll in these classes.
