Miss Prairie View A&M University 2008
Before becoming Miss Prairie View I was heavily involved in the University through various leadership roles in organizations such as the Society for Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) in which I served as National Undergraduate Vice President for Region IV and in the Student Government Association where I served as a ranking senator and Election Chair. Having these experiences provided me the opportunity to develop and enhance fundamental leadership skills. Leadership enhancement is necessary to produce the productive people that Prairie View has had a long standing commitment of doing. Professionally and personally, leadership is an essential attribute for success and I have incorporated this idea into my platform which is "Leadership Development for All Prairie View students." It is my vision that each and every student matriculating at this institution be awarded the opportunity to acquire leadership growth. My platform offers another resource for leadership development aside from departmental organizations. This will offer students who are not able to be members of these organizations as well as members to participate in leadership enhancing workshops. My platform focuses on three key components of leadership development: personal awareness, diversity and global awareness and I will host programs and seminars that center around these points. Greetings to family and friends of Prairie View A&M University! I am Kara Kamille Willis and I am so honored to have the esteemed opportunity of serving as your Miss Prairie View A&M University 2008-2009. As a twenty-one year old senior, agriculture economics major from Houston, Texas I aspire to pursue a career in environmental law. I am the proud daughter of Linda and Miles Willis and the loving sister of Erin Liggins and Ayana Willis.
