The Institute for Pre-College Enrichment:

The Institute for Pre-College Enrichment offers two-week residential summer programs to help prepare talented high school sophomore, junior and senior students for the new school year and assist them in making early plans to pursue a college education: Six components make up the academic challenge:

ARTEC – Architectural Enrichment Concepts

ARTEC is a workshop program designed for well-prepared high school students interested in pursuing a career in architecture. Admission is on aspace- available basis for those who rank in the top one-third of their class.

BASIS – Business for Academically and Scholarly Business Students

BASIS is a two-week summer program designed to introduce academically talented students to business career options including marketing, accounting, management and information systems.

HELP – Helping Establish Leadership in the Profession

HELP is a summer study for individuals interested in teacher education, agriculture, criminal justice, law, psychology, sociology, social work, human science and communications disciplines.

MITES – Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science

MITES is a workshop designed for the well-prepared high school student interested in pursuing a career in engineering, engineering technology or computer science. This program is open to students completing the tenth and eleventh grades.

SCOPE – Science Careers Opportunities Enrichment

SCOPE offers highly competitive students the opportunity to learn about becoming a medical doctor, dentist, veterinarian, nurse, physical therapist, physician’s assistant or other allied health professional.

TAME – Theatre Arts and Music Enrichment

TAME is a program for students interested in acting and musical theatre, singing, band and directing, to those interested in careers in teaching music and drama, and for those seeking careers in the entertainment.
