Prairie View A&M Celebrates Womens History Month

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Prairie View A&M University will celebrate the accomplishments, heritage and history of women with a series of lectures and activities throughout Women’s History Month, March 6-31. This year’s theme, “Women’s Vision-Expanding the View,” recognizes the contributions of women across the world and Prairie View A&M women that have achieved a high measure of success and who have greatly contributed to the Prairie View A&M community and mankind.   

Highlights for Prairie View A&M University Women's History Month 2008 include a “Tea Party & Hatitiude Extravaganza” (March 19), a “Healthy Relationships with My Sisters” workshop and reception featuring Sheretta West of The Church Without Walls, of Houston (March 26) and a Women’s Health Fair (March 31).

Each woman on “The Hill” is important to the university’s mission of teaching, research and service. Below are some of the outstanding women of Prairie View A&M University that represent “Women’s Vision-Expanding the View”:
