Steps to Apply for and Receive Financial Aid

Step 1:
Apply for admission to Prairie View A&M University as a degree-seeking student.
If you haven’t done so, Apply Now.
Step 2:
Access Prairie View A&M University’s scholarship web page to search and apply for merit-based aid.
Step 3:
Enroll in at least six (6) hours as an undergraduate or graduate student at Prairie View A&M University.
Step 4:
You must be a citizen of the United States of America, or an eligible non-citizen.
Step 5:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
PVAMU’s Federal School Code is: 003630. (Application priority deadline date: March 17)
Step 6:
You must meet PVAMU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress standards (SAP).
Step 7:
Before an award is disbursed to an account, ALL STUDENTS are required to complete each of the lessons in our mandatory “Life Skills” financial literacy program. Undergraduate and Graduate students can complete this requirement online.
Step 8:
Check your award status on PantherTracks.
Step 9:
If you were awarded a Federal Stafford Loan (Subsidized or Unsubsidized), you must select a lender and e-sign your master promissory note.
Step 10:
Enroll in PV Pay to have your financial aid refund electronically delivered to your bank account.
Step 11:
Stay informed! Periodically, review our Announcements page.
