Application Process

All Applicants Must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning, with an overall 2.5 or greater grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 system (Foreign transcripts must be professionally evaluated for U.S. equivalency).
  • Provide official transcripts of all university course work from all universities or colleges attended.
  • Have passed all three sections of the state mandated basic skills test (THEA) with the following minimum scores: Math 230, Writing 220, and Reading 260.
  • Be recommended by a screening committee for admission to the program.
  • Show proof of admittance to Prairie View A&M University Graduate School.

Applicants seeking certification in Spanish or French must pass an oral and written proficiency examination (TOPT).
